Rhetta Hughes had a HUGE buzz in New York with "Angel Man (G.A.)" a song about the Guardian Angels. Despite the positive word of mouth and excellent production by Kenny Lehman (Chic, Sugar, Roundtree, Lemon...) the song quietly disappeared and is now one of those "must have" underground Disco classics.
"Angel Man" is a killer track and one that should have done better for Rhetta Hughes.

Feb 07, 2004 | 2:17 pmDon't know what you mean by "should have done better"...it hit #1 on the Billboard Disco Chart! The week of 4/23/83!

Rhetta Hughes had a minor hit in the mid 70's with "Sending out an S.O.S." Excellent track would love to see it featured here.
