Released posthumously--copyright is 1982, but on the back cover is a photo of Cowley with "1952-1982" [other sources say he was actually born in 1950]. He died in November, 1982. This album was bittersweetly referred to among those working on it as "The death record", as Cowley's health was drastically deteriorating during recording. He died very shortly after finishing the last track, "Going Home", which has obvious death-suggesting themes.

May 23, 2004 | 9:05 pmThe whole album echos his (apparently rapidly) delining health. The whole second side leading up to "Going Home" alludes to themes of chaos and the abyss. The refrain of "They came at night" is "...beware of darkness". This can be listened to as a concept album. One of the earliest geniuses struck down by AIDS (or "GRID" as it was sometimes still called). Overall a very COOL sound.

Man this is sad, the album was made as he was passing away. Why would he do that??
