Being a big fan of AUGUST DARNELL and DR BUZZARD"S I was delighted when I received this record in the mail almost thirty years ago. My first reaction was to laugh. Coming from New York, and hearing all the horror stories about getting into STUDIO 54, it was hilarious. While understanding all the trouble people had getting in there, I didn't think it would be a good record. I was wrong, I liked it, and I played it. Far from being a DISCO CLASSIC, it had that special sound that all of AUGUST DARNELLS' product had. I attempted to force it down dancers' throats, and met with mixed results. Sometimes it kept everyone dancing, sometimes I almost lost the floor. But when that would start happening, I would simply mix DEPUTY OF LOVE into it. So I can't always get my way. On my scale from 1-10, I am forced to give this record a 5, and only because I liked the song.
