Sep 10, 2005 | 3:05 pmBernie's right, of course. But this LP's standout is the remake of Amen Corner's 1969 U.K. hit, "If Paradise is Half as Nice."
Under aliases Bernie has named, producers Ian Guenther and Willi Morrison (and arranger Pete Pedersen and vocalists Phyllis and Helen Duncan) released spirited hits on several labels. "Two Hearts, One Love" (Atlantic, 1979), "Wasting My Love" (Prelude, 1979) and "Boys Will Be Boys" (Casablanca, 1980) are typical, although the producers essentially maintained their sound well into the synthesized 80's. Remember Hazell Dean's "Jealous Love" (Quality), and Ramming Speed's "When You Walk In the Room, (Moby D**k), both from 1984?
Each married a flamboyance worthy of Phil Spector to giddy vocals. "Half as Nice" disciplined this frantic approach, improving on the original hit. Not many disco records did.
Dunno whether Butterfly ever released "Half as Nice" in an extended 12" (if so, please God, let me hear it just once!), but the concise, well-mastered LP cut kicks a** - just the thing to freak out your tweaked dance floor at 10 AM!!!

I love their music and always try to include it in every dance music I play in my parties, Tender is the Night is just a dream song and Good to me is just simply hot!!!
