Barrabas originally released the album containing “Woman” and “Wild Safary” (RCA LSP-10458-[original Spanish version]) in 1972 and immediately became a huge track for the early club scene in Miami’s predominantly Latin crowd that comprised the majority of club dancers in those early Disco days in the city.

This is one of the reasons why Luis Martinez (Lewis Martinee) chose to update this track in 1983 and produce a ‘Freestyle’ version that would breed new life into this great track while at the same time exposing a new generation of Latin club dancers in the city to a great flash from Disco’s past.

Techno –Lust versions was an instant hit on the Dance floors of Miami and vicinities, at the time I was spinning at a club in Fort Lauderdale, Pete & Lenny’s, here the break dancing youngsters couldn’t get enough of this cut even after satisfying their cravings by giving them my own extended versions using double copies, many times ten minutes and more of TechnoLust was not enough for them.

This cut remained popular in Miami’s dance floors for years as freestyle continued to be the predominant sound of the city during the rest of the 80’s, I clearly remember that as late as 1985 I was still using this track in different clubs and still getting a great dance floor response, an accomplishment that not many producers can point to in their careers.

I have been trying for a few years to buy a copy of "Woman" by Techno-Lust, but can't find it anywhere. Mixes good with "Stay" by Marx & Spencer. You're right, got people on the floor. Any help would be good....

BERNIE, you missed this train as well. Not only is Octavio right, you were totally wrong. It was a very good "Freestyle" version of the DISCO CLASSIC. It ruled South Florida for years, and like the MixMaster said, the people couldn't get enough of it! No matter how long I played it, they wanted it longer!But it wasn't just in Miami, I saw it get charted in New York City, Chicago, Boston, D.C./Baltimore and Los Angeles. this was a great song that was heavily played, but never landed a Major Label deal. That was because of the local label's management, not because the Big Record Companies weren't interested. The local company wanted too much, so they bite their nose off to spite their faces!! That prevented this record from becoming a national hit, not because the track sucked or was lame. If you love FREESTYLE or the song WOMAN, go out and get this record if you can find it!! I have four copies!!

Dude! you are crazy!!! This song still playes in clubs and I have not heard plant pratol in years... I beleive this was realesed in 81 on CountDown records then on Pantere in 82 and lastly on UP on 83 so do the math what came out first! The vinyl on Technolust is going for over $100.00 a copy!

Bernie, it seems unanimous, you got that one totally wrong. Techno-lust was a great crew that released WOMAN, one of the first FREESTYLE groups, even though they didn't intend to be freestyle.And they seem to have set the standard, put the bar really high, and even some of the NATIONAL FREESTYLE artist never reached that level.So in the words of one of DISCOS great minds,"DUDE, YOU'RE CRAZY!"
