Sylvester was still technically on the Megatone label, but under a distribution agreement with Warner Bros. Sylvester died two years later from AIDS.
Overall, "Someone Like You" is weak regardless of which mix / version you choose to play although the Marty Blecman version has more energy while Larry Levan simply gutted the song of any life.

Apr 23, 2008 | 12:29 pmThis was his poorest effort, in my opinion. Lacked something, not sure what it was, but it was missing it??? On my scale from 1-10, it gets a 5.

This was a great single. "Someone Like You" was one of Sylvester's biggest hits and it hit number one on the dance charts. The video, and song, received mainstream airplay. For club goers of the day, the song brings back wonderful memories. It's timeless.
