This time Linda Clifford moves to Capitol Records and is produced by Michael Gore who also did Irene Cara's "Fame" at around the same time. "Don't Come Crying" has a touch of Rock to it and it works very well. Seek out this 12" single since it is very good.

Mar 06, 2008 | 7:18 amHere is the CLASSIC I was talking about. The excellent remixed extended version would pack dance floors all the time.I had two copies of it, and would double it up, echo it, play one four beats behind the other, sometimes play the instrumental part over the top of her fabulous vocals. Great fun record. On my scale from 1-10 I can only give it a ten because it doesn't go any higher.

Nov 18, 2006 | 5:02 amSure is! Think Linda, fronting a chugging barroom rock band. Dancers were sufficiently game that the record became a #1 club hit. Unfortunately, Linda, or possibly Capitol Records, didn't pursue this artistic stretch.
The flip side, "I'll Keep On Loving You," also makes this a must-grab if you see it in the bins. Chirpy, sassy, very 1982, with amusingly timed lead and backup vocals.

Issued as a white label promotional 12" at a slightly longer 6:52 by Capitol (SPRO 9736). Capitol's nausea-inducing promotional numbering system proved to be in good working order here, with Side B, "Let It Ride" (3:37) numbered SPRO 9737.
