Curtom Records (US) 1978 / PRO-A-709
12" 33 1/3 rpm Promo
Producer(s) : Gil Askey
Side A
If My Friends Could See Me Now (10:12)
Side B
Gypsy Woman (9:59)
Here are two great tracks by Linda Clifford on the old Curton label. Many may remember her for "Red Light" from the Fame soundtrack or "Shoot Your Best Shot." She also did "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" which is a song I don't really care for-it just never did anything for me. Now with "If My Friends Could See Me Now" and "Gypsy Lady," that's a whole different story.
These two Linda Clifford tracks are actually very good. The "A" side was produced by Gil Akey, while the "B" side was remixed by Jimmy Simpson and produced by Gil Askey along with Curtis Mayfield. Check em' out and see what you think.

What I think is that LINDA CLIFFORD was one hell of a vocalist. Both sides of this 12" got plenty of air play. I remember WBLS in New York playing this on my drive home every morning. I remember hoe the dance floor shook when her vocals tore through my speakers. Or how all the women in the clubs sang along to this DISCO CLASSIC. An easy TEN on my scale from 1-10.
