Bionic Boogie was a Gregg Diamond production. This is Bionic Boogie's first album, which was released on Polydor Records in 1977 and one of Gregg Diamond's best albums.
I can play this Bionic Boogie album in its entirety several times in a row and not get tired of it. It is that good! It is a shame they don't make them like this anymore. The orchestration, the lyrics... every song is a keeper and it goes without saying that this Gregg Diamond / Bionic Boogie album is a must for any Disco record collector.
Is there a problem with this Bionic Boogie release? Yes, unfortunately the US pressings of this album have a mastering flaw that results in a narrow stereo image. This was brought to my attention by DiscoMusic.com member, Graham Start and we both came to an agreement that the stereo imaging was not correct. I later purchased a UK pressing and this one got it right. So in short it is recommended that you buy a UK pressing as it is sonically superior to the US pressing. This flaw is not documented anywhere else and appears to affect all US copies.
A year later Gregg Diamond and Bionic Boogie released another great album titled "Hot Butterfly." There were a few duds in Diamond's career (George McCrae - "Diamond Touch"), but for the most part he is one of the legendary Disco producers. Diamond unfortunately passed away in 1992. Thank you for the wonderful music Gregg.

May 18, 2007 | 11:10 amPROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST DISCO SONGS EVER. WHEN THE SINGER SCREAMS OUT THOSE VOCALS TOWARDS THE END OF THE SONG, IT'S UNBELIEVABLE!!! WHEN I PLAY THIS SONG AT A PARTY AND EVEN IF ONLY ONE PERSON DANCES TO IT, IT WAS WORTH IT. DISCO LIVES!!!

a love this music
