The Afro-Cuban Band put out a really good album on Arista Records in 1978. Produced by Michael Zager, The Afro-Cuban Band consisted of many stellar studio musicians of the day who weren't even Cuban such as Alan Schwartzberg on drums and Francisco Centano on bass. This is a great album overall and the audio quality is tops as well.

Feb 27, 2008 | 9:26 amI am prejudice, as a Cuban born deejay, I fell in love with this album before I heard it! Something to do with the name of the band. I played the title track consistently, it did fairly well, like most DISCO music, it depended on what time I played it. On my scale, because I am prejudiced, it gets a 7.

Hello. I've been trying to discover the name of a song from a PBS sponsorship commercial. The ad came out immediately after Sesame Street's closing credits- not the Sesame Street Chime song, commonly called on Youtube. It's obviously an Afro-Cuban song. I ran into it at a concert, played by a dj, and it brought back memories. I cannot find this song for the life of me. And no one I've asked, even those who love Afro-Cuban music seem to know this. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks
Alex
