Chic on the Buddah Records label?!
Before Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers, collectively known as Chic, signed with Atlantic Records they had their first Disco single released on the Buddah label. The Buddah 12" Disco single is now a collector's item, but relatively easy to track down.
Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah) later appeared on Atlantic as DK-4100.

Mar 05, 2008 | 12:48 pmYOWSAH, YOWSAH, YOWSAH!!!DANCE DANCE DANCE was the first hit, the first release for CHIC. It was a different style song at the time, DISCO had never heard anything like this. It's closest sounding song might have been something by DR. BUZZARD'S ORIGINAL SAVANNAH BRASS BAND. Like that great album, this is a DISCO CLASSIC! Everyone, everywhere, was playing this song during PRIME TIME hours. Easy to mix, excellent bass tracks, I can only give this song a TEN on my scale from 1-10.
