La Charanga 76 were a Salsa outfit that decided to cover some popular Disco tunes of the day in Spanish.
They were very successful with "No Nos Pararan" which was a huge hit in New York City and was often mixes with the original "Ain't No Stopping Us Now by McFadden and Whitehead.
The album also contains Spanish language versions of Sister Sledge's "We Are Family" and Chic's "My Forbidden Lover."

Being one of the people responsible for discovering CHARANGA 76, I can tell you that these musicians could have made a mint if they had chosen to perform in English,but their CUBAN roots, and hailing from UNION CITY, New Jersey made that impossible. Union City at that time had more CUBANS that CUBA! Not really, but it seemed that way. I won't rate this LP.
