NOTES ON THIS VINYL RECORD:

This is the debut album that put Vincent Montana and the Salsoul Orchestra on the Disco map in 1975. The concept fused Latin, Soul and Big band music and was the brainshild of Philly veteran, Vince Montana Jr.

The Salsoul Orchestra's debot album is an excellent introduction to the highly orchestrated sounds that would become prevelant throughout most of the 1970s. In an exclusive DiscoMusic.com interview, Mr. Vincent Motnana describes in detail the making of these historic records.

Reader Comments on Salsoul Orchestra

This is with no doubt one of my favorites. Every song on this album was a hit. You could play this and not worry about not wanting to listen to a particular song. SalSoul put out some of the best music in the 70's and 80's. This one ranks at the VERY top!

I wouldn't go as far as saying that every song was a HIT. No they all weren't. There are at least FOUR songs that were hits, SALSOUL HUSTLE-GET HAPPY-YOU'RE JUST THE RIGHT SIZE- and TANGERINE were HUGE. On my scale from 1-10, this DISCO CLASSIC gets a 10.

"I Love The Salsoul Orchestra" I got their first album "Salsoul Orchestra" in 1975 when I was only 13 years old! I played it until the grooves were destroyed! My favorite song on it was "Tale of two cities" I use to play it all the time at Stuio 54. I own all their albums and 12 inch records
