The Mighty Clouds of Joy were essentially a Gospel group with an all-star Philly rhythm section. Look at those names-all staples in the Philly and Disco sound of the 1970s.

"Mighty High", which was a huge dance smash in 1976 for this group. I always wondered how many people shaking their a** to this gospel song knew what it was all about!. But who cared, the song was sooooooooo good.
