Irene Cara sang the title song from the movie musical "Fame" based on a performing arts high school in New York City. A TV series based on the movie was later aired. Michael Gore who produced "Fame" also produced "Don't Come Crying To Me" for Linda Clifford.

You had to be hiding somewhere not to know this record. it was a major Motion Picture, and this Irene Cara song was title song. The 12" version was longer then the album, it was better mixed, and had POP appeal. The Top 40 radio stations were enamored with it. So were many DISCOS. I enjoyed IRENE'S strong voice, this little spitfire sure could sing. I knew there would be a lot more from her. There was. On my scale from 1-10, FAME gets a respectable 7.
