The Sledge girls move from under the direction of CHIC and team up with Narada Michael Walden for their 3rd album.
Walden gave the girls some funky numbers and the title track was a huge dance hit. I wish the songs were a little longer (as was the case on the Walden-produced SIXTEEN) but it's just a detail.
The LP version of HE'S JUST A RUNAWAY is a turbo-charged Hi-NRG rocker (very different from the Sledge produced, Bob Marley tribute version that later surfaced on 12").
IF YOU REALLY WANT ME is snappy and funky, HAPPY FEELING is summery and light.
OOH YOU CAUGHT MY HEART (co-penned by American Idol judge Randy Jackson) is another dance pick (I love this one!) ,MAKE A MOVE and MUSIC MAKES ME FEEL GOOD are also worth spinning because they are typical Walden dance tracks...
DON'T YOU LET ME LOSE IT is a great ballad co-penned by Allee Willis. I DON'T WANT TO SAY GOODBYE is another ballad that works well.
It's worth noting that Joni and Kathy contributed lyrics on a few tracks.
