The year was 1979 and disco was everywhere. So this set features no less than four disco tracks out of the six proposed here.
I GOT THE HOTS FOR YA was a hit and charted. It's funky and a great kick-off song. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE offers great vocals... and a typical Salsoul groove. A little short at 3'58 though.
ICE COLD LOVE is a surefire dance pick and it sounds very different. Traces of dixieland and a groove similar to the Bombers' "Everybody Get Dancin." I love the vocals... and the thumping bass. The breaks reminds me (I'm not kidding) of the Rolling Stones' "Miss You!" I WISH THAT I COULD MAKE LOVE TO YOU (penned by Bunny Sigler) is slower yet as funky. It is my favorite on the album. The strings and the laid back dance beats... make this one a real winner.
If you're a fan of Double Exposure (and of lead singer James Williams) you will not want to miss the great shot featured on the flip side of the jacket ; where all 4 members appear, proudly wearing little more than jockstraps.
