MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

Boys Town Gang (Boystown Gang) hailed from San Francisco and were best known for their covers of other songs.

Disco Kicks, from the album DiscCharge, is a classic early Hi-NRG from San Francisco's Moby Dick label originally done by Original Mass. Other Boys Town Gang tracks included Can't Take My Eyes Off You.

One of the female members of the Boystown Gang, Jackson Moore had a minor Hi-NRG track called If it's Love (That You're After).

"Disco Kicks" is still great fun, but as years stretch on, the less popular "A" side of this record impresses me more.

    It's a good remake of Little Sister's gimme-no-lip 1970 soul workout.
Not as funky or soulful, but more energetic and even sexier with its pointed enunciation of lyrics. Really worth a spin.
