Quartz was a French group who had a very synthetic and dull bass sound. The synth piano on their big hit, Beyond the Clouds, is very prominent and almost House-like in sound.
Featured here is the American pressing on Marlin Records of their first album. The opening track, Quartz is an album side long track sung in French with a plodding dry bass sound that is recycled almost note-for-note from Beyond the Clouds.
If you appreciate French groups such as Martin Circus or Arpadys then definitely pick up the two Quartz albums.
