Martin Stevens has been recording disco music since 1974. A series of French singles led the way for his international breakthrough with "Love is in the Air" in 1978.
Some markets favored his version over John Paul Young's so he found fame with his first English release.
Prior to this 1979 LP ; a 12" with the electronic "Midnight music" (much better at over 5 minutes) and "Gotcha baby" (at 6'04 on the 12") was released. Why they were chopped at 2'57 and 3'22 ; I will never understand!
The album is part-disco and also part-funk. Stevens was always very vocal about his love for Earth Wind & Fire's horns & funky riffs.
The album was produced by Canadian disco greats Michel Daigle and also band leader Jacques Lafleche. The men responsible for SPACE PROJECT, ALMA FAYE BROOKS and PATRICK NORMAN on RCA Records.
Alma and Kat Mandu's Jimmy Ray are featured as background singers.
