I had a very good friend, named Mark Cerillo, whose Dad was the President of DISCOS CBS INTERNATIONAL, they gave me a two copies of this a full six months before it's release date. I heard DR BEAT and realized that The MIAMI SOUND MACHINE finally was going to take off in the United States. They were already International superstars, but the American market knew nothing of them. DR BEAT, I knew, would change all that. I jumped on it right away, reported it , charted it, pushed it and played the hell out of it. I was the first deejay in Miami to play it, to have it! I remixed it to death, and it's success was extra-ordinary. my dance floors over-flowed. I was the head deejay for LONDONTOWN ASSOCIATES, a night club/deejay service that had up to 400 DISCOS around the world. I sent out copies to all the deejays with instructions to play and push this record. The result was that almost right after it's release, EPIC Records picked up the MIAMI SOUND MACHINE. The rest is history. Emelio, still owes me a Gold Record!-- The breakthrough DISCO CLASSIC propels this album to a 10 on my scale from 1-10.
