When you talk about DISCO CLASSICS, at the top of that list is a record on this album. When I first started deejaying in 1972, there was no "DISCO" music, no record pools, few mixers, few clubs. As the MOVEMENT was starting, one of the FIRST DISCO SONGS was RAIN 2000. Early DISCO at its freshest. Every club, every dance, every party played this song. Truly one of the first, yet I left it off my list of the FIRST DISCO SONGS!! There is a reason, not a really good reason, it is easily debatable. This record came just before the TERM DISCO and the DISCO MOVEMENT. Technically ROCK and ROLL with a funk to it. But I easily could be wrong.
This album was released after DISCO started, but RAIN 2000 was a single release a year earlier. Other strong cuts include MACUMBA, CONFUSION and SULTANA which were all released as singles later. Got to give this ALBUM A TEN!! Simply because it was one of the first, and a MUST HAVE TO YOUR COLLECTION!!!
