I was shocked not to see ANY Lionel Richie records here. After twelve years, someone has finally added him to the charts. He was long over-due. Remember how big this guy was in 1982 to 84. He was the biggest male recording star around. He had some really fantastic records.
This album is an example of that. All the cuts are good, but there are THREE that went way above you're average song. "YOU ARE" crossed over from R&B, to JAZZ, to POP, to ADULT CONTEMPORARY then back to where it got started, DISCOS!!! Every house played it somehow, on radio,or record,or cassette tape or this new fangled CD'S! It was number one in all the charts. I was able to get-a-way with playing it for over two years!! Then there was "MY LOVE", another song that was as big as "YOU ARE". It followed its success closely, getting plenty of play everywhere. The ballad "Truly" was a number one song as well. This album ROCKED!! On my scale from 1-10, it easily gets a TEN!!
