The Philadelphia International All-Stars were a group of Artists and musicians who got together and recorded a BENEFIT album. It featured LOU RAWLS, BILLY PAUL, ARCHIE BELL, TEDDY PENDERGRASS, INTRUDERS, THE O'JAYS, HAROLD MELVIN & THE BLUE NOTES, THE THREE DEGREES and DEE DEE SHARP-GAMBLE.
That is quite a roster of talent. That is just the vocalists, how about every musician under the PHILLY INTERNATIONAL label as the studio band! That is impressive. This record was a tribute to all the GHETTO'S in the world, with some of the profit to go to relief causes.
Every song kicks butt, my favorite being THE THREE DEGREES' YEAR OF DECISION, and DEE DEE SHARP-GAMBLE'S OOH CHILD. But those are simply MY favorites, there are plenty more. Great Easy Listening music, great on a long drive. I played this album every chance I got. On my scale from 1-10, it gets a 10.
