MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

Here is another of those "Local" Miami records that never left the sunny south, even though I picked this up at Downstairs Records in New York City? Herman Kelly never got the major label deal he deserved to get.

There are two cuts on this album that require a good listen. WHO'S THE FUNKY D.J.? and DANCE TO THE DRUMMER'S BEAT. Both these PERCUSSION heavy songs got actual play time in Miami Clubs. I played them as often as I could. On my scale from 1-10, this album gets a 5, but DANCE TO THE DRUMMER'S BEAT/WHO'S THE FUNKY D.J.? gets an impressive 8.
