MUSIC REVIEW & RECORD COLLECTOR NOTES

The album has a 1975 release date on it, but for those who were there, we know that it was around since 1973. SHAME SHAME SHAME was the standard that came from Englewood, New Jersey. Shirley Robinson had been performing it for two years prior to the LP release. I remember her at my DANCE HALL DAYS parties, both as a performer or a partier. She made the crowds roar in delight, and had them singing along as well. And she sure could dance as well. She was directly or indirectly responsible for Van McCoy, The Stylistics, The Moments, The Whatnots and others, including the SUGARHILL GANG and Rapper's Delight! A visionary ho we should look at more carefully. On my scale from 1-10, SHAME SHAME SHAME gets a hefty 10!
