NOTES:

"Love is the Ultimate..." by the group Ultimate is a must. Unfortunately, this is a horrible remix of a great song. Get the LP version instead and also check out "Ritmo de Brazil" on the flip side.

YOUR REVIEWS & COMMENTS ON Ultimate

I disagree with the comment regarding Howard Merritt's "horrible" remix of "Love is the Ultimate..." I think the LP version pales in comparison to the 12" remix. The 12" version has very percussive breaks that are not found on the album. The "Dancing in the Night" segment of the LP medley is cheesy, and Merritt wisely omits the vocals and keeps it instrumental on the 12" version. The 12" version begins with the traditional thump thump thump thump that tells me a good disco track is beginning; whereas the LP version begins with a Voyage "From East to West" ripoff that just sounds weak.

Basically it comes down to this: if you prefer traditional "philly disco" you might prefer the LP version, but if you want a more European sounding Casablanca-ish disco sound, get the 12" version, which is available on the Casablanca boxed set.
