Fantastic Four

Alvin Stone (The Birth & Death of a Gangster) [disco DJ 7"]

RECORD LABEL / RELEASE INFO:

Westbound Records (US) / 1975 / TCD-2
7" single, 45 RPM

STUDIO CREDITS:

Producer: Al Kent for Westbound Productions
Writers: Al Kent & Calvin Colbert

TRACKLISTING:

Side A
Alvin Stone (The Birth & Death of a Gangster) 6:45

Side B
Brazil 3:55
[by The Ritchie Family]

NOTES:

A rare promo-only single; the second special 'disco dj' pressing made by 20th Century (the first was TCD-1, Bob Crewe’s 12" of Hollywood Hot).

This 6:45 mix of Alvin Stone Brazil was issued in July, 1975 and is an edited version of the 7:50 LP mix. To the best of my knowledge, this mix remains unreleased. While Alvin Stone failed to crack the Billboard disco charts in 1975, the song has recently attracted attention on the rare groove scene.
