NOTES:

I don't know a lot about Chas Chankel because I've been unable to find any information about him. I believe he was one of Ian Dury's "Blockheads", and Dury is credited on some of the songs on Questionnaire. This was a brilliant dance album, and I was expecting much more from Chas Jankel. Sadly, aside from another 12" single I've not heard anything else from him.

this album "Questionnaire" has a devastating dance track called "Glad to Know You." If you ever see the album, pick it up, regardless of the price, that track is worth whatever you'll pay for the album. Aside from that song, Jankel is best know as a writer. "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick", recorded while he was a member of Ian Dury and the Blockheads, is a British classic, but he's also know as the writer of "Ai No Corrida", which became a very popular song when it wa covered by Quincy Jones on his album called "The Dude." I also have not heard or read anything about Jankel in ages....

"Glad To Know You" was year or two ahead of its time by way of well-pitched if chilly 80's vocals.

The rhthym was worthy of "Soul Train," and the infamous synthesizer riff near the end made for one disco's more suspenseful hits!

I always thought 3,000,000 Synths was a pretty brilliant piece of dance music too. I may be mistaken (the memory is not as good as it once was) but I believe it got a bit of airplay on NYC radio back in the early 80s.

This was a great album. Had his two gigantic hits, and a lot of pretty good tracks as well. On my scale from 1-10, this should have album gets a 10.
