NOTES:
Ava Cherry was from Chicago, and was a backing singer in the early seventies. In 1974 she met, and formed a relationship with David Bowie, and worked with him on his albums and in his concerts.
After they split in 1979, Ava returned to Chicago where she was introduced to Curtis Mayfield. The result was this LP. Despite Ava being rock-oriented, Curtis went for more of a soul-disco slant, much like his output with Linda Clifford. Bobby Eli (Eli's Second Coming, etc.) also wrote and produced much of this LP.
"You Never Loved Me" and "I'm Always Ready" are the best disco cuts. "Where There's Smoke There's Fire" is disco/rock, "Gimme Your Lovin'" funk, and there are also two soul ballads.
