NOTES:
We received the promotional 12" DJ set of this remarkable work, available from Verve on CD. We normally do not venture into Latin sounds; however, I was quite taken by the fact that they re-mixed a rare Latin-style performance of Caravan by George Shearing that I happen to own in my jazz collection.
Who but Louie Vega could make it work this well! The rest of the album ranges from very tight Latin Jazz to some high-BPM very, very danceable stuff. (Cut 11 "La Descarga Del Bobo remix had me moving all over the place) I give it four out of five stars!
