NOTES:

The Afro-Cuban Band put out a really good album on Arista Records in 1978. Produced by Michael Zager, The Afro-Cuban Band consisted of many stellar studio musicians of the day who weren't even Cuban such as Alan Schwartzberg on drums and Francisco Centano on bass. This is a great album overall and the audio quality is tops as well.

YOUR REVIEWS & COMMENTS ON Afro-Cuban Band

I was in the road band in ' 78 -' 79 We had alot of appearances on local tv dance shows from NY to Fla and Canada.
The club scene was also great, appearing with greats like Sylvester, Bohannon, Karen Young, The Ritchie Family. Any alumni out there? Anybody w/magazine interview articles or videos of tv shows ACB appeared in ... Please contact me. Thx, SS

Judging from your username I take it you played sax. Which alto, tenor? Tell us some more about your time with this group. Was there more than one album? Thanks.

I am prejudice, as a Cuban born deejay, I fell in love with this album before I heard it! Something to do with the name of the band. I played the title track consistently, it did fairly well, like most DISCO music, it depended on what time I played it. On my scale, because I am prejudiced, it gets a 7.
