NOTES:

Disco group Ultimate was the brainchild of producers Giuliano Salerni (Juliano Salerni) and Bruce Weeden. They also produced the excellent "Score" for Carol Lloyd on Ear Marc Records.

The medley, "Love Is the Ultimate..." on the A side is superb and a bona-fide Disco classic. It just flows from one suite to the next and is essential listening. There was a 12 inch single with a remix done by Howard Merritt of this medley, but it is simply not as good when compared to the original full version featured here on the LP. Don't bother with the 12 inch!

YOUR REVIEWS & COMMENTS ON Ultimate

Absolulely brilliant release. The only weak spot is the clichéd and silly closing track "Take Me To Chinatown".

As mentioned before, both of the 12" mixes of "Love Is The Ultimate" are WEAK. Stick with the LP.

Say what you will about the vocals, it is a thrilling, sustained 14:30! The record leaves no doubt about what it is and what it wants to be. Sweet minutes of escape from our troubled times!

I have to disagree with the above posts; the 12" remix of "Love is the Ultimate" is preferable to the LP version. Three main reasons: 1) the 12" has great drum breaks, the LP version doesn't; 2) the 12" omits the cheesy Hooray For Everything-esque "Dancing in the Night" vocals and leaves a nice instrumental in its place; and 3) the 12" remix omits the lame Voyage ripoff intro.

Don't get me wrong, the LP version is a great track, but I think the 12" remix is superior.
