NOTES:
Vera, who made quite a splash with her 1980 hit TAKE ME TO THE BRIDGE, returns with her second album and this time she is signed to Matra Records.
The overall sound is quite surprising because it flirts (a lot) with europop and not strictly with traditional Hi-NRG.
JOEY, JOEY is an electronic version of the 1960s girl-group sound, the LIME-like LOVE COMES EASY is a pop hit if I've ever heard one and READY FOR LOVE is NRGetic and catchy.
Many hits were to be found on the LP. The sexy, hypnotic DON'T YOU WANT MY LOVE is still a highlight. BABY WON'T YOU DANCE WITH ME with its pumping and contagious groove is a great workout tune...
Overall - quite a stunning album. You can easily drop the needle on any track and dance your heart away.
Pierre Gauthier, who programmed the synths and also played guitar on the album, was once a member of Montreal disco group (and one-time Casablanca artist) ECLIPSE. The group released a Moroder-like cover of THE KINKS' "You really got me" back in 1977 soon followed by their debut album NIGHT & DAY.
