I had the good fortune to produce Chuck on an entertainment endeavor. He was professional, and so talented. It's rare to run into such professionals. Further, Chuck was such a gentleman, tThe world has few men like Chuck, may he RIP. During my lifetime I am constantly moving to be as great as my heroes, and Chuck is definitely one person that has etched very professional vibes in my brain. Life is so short, may we all find peace, and best wishes to his family ! Also RIP Pumpkin, another gentleman and genius in the industry that died too soon.

I grew up listening to Chuck on WABC. That was up till i found out what FM was all about. I remember the commercials for Dennison Clothiers Rt 22 Union NJ. Money Talks and nobody walks at Dennisons. Yeah Radio was great back then. WABC had Dj's like Herb Oscar Anderson, Charlie Greer, Scott Muni, Chuck Dunaway, Jack Carney, and Bob Lewis (Bob-a lou), Harry Harrison, Ron Lundy, Jim Nettleton, Jim Perry, Radio Hall of Fame members Dan Ingram and "Cousin Brucie" Bruce Morrow. Cousin Brucie can now be heard on Sirius 60's channel 6

In 1977 my brother Scott and I did this benefit for the Lighthouse for the Blind outside on 54th street and 6th ave from 12--2 PM
We were DJing in the middle of the day and People were dancing in the middle of the street.
The radio Dj's that were with me that day were Chuck Leonard form ABC and Scott Bingham form NBC
I still have the flyer..all these years later

Are we talking about UNCLE CHUCKY here?? WABC was an amazing AM station in the sixties and seventies. Heard from Virginia to New Hampshire on a clear day, Chuck Leonard's voice carried a long way. He pushed his station to play DISCO, and compete with the FM stations. They didn't really listen, and the glory days of a super AM station fell by the curb. God Bless Chuck Leonard.
