Ciro Llerena
Miami Disco DJ, Radio DJ and Remixer
Ciro Llerena was one of Miami's youngest Disco DJs getting his start at the age of fourteen (14) in the late 1970s. He would go on to work at such Miami area hotspots as Honey For the Bears and the now gone, but infamous Casanovas in Hialeah, Florida. Having heard his mixing, I can tell you his sets are superb.
In addition to spinning at clubs, Ciro Llerena also was a radio personality at Super Q-FM and later Power 96.5.
If that is not enough Ciro also got into studio production and is best known for his remix with Foxy producer Ish on Tiger Moon's "Something Tells Me" from 1987.
Llerena has returned to DJ'ing after a brief hiatus and can be heard at Clasica 92.3 FM as well as at various Miami night clubs.

YOUR COMMENTS ON Ciro Llerena
I went to high school with Ciro & became friendly with him & began to go to Casanova's on Sundays & Wednesdays to hear him spin. He's a genius on the turntables! I missed the "Flow Lounge" phenomenon but hope to catch the next wave of Ciro's magic.

Without a shadow of a dought, Ciro
always been the Best DJ In Miami. I was
one of the DJ's back In 1986 for "SUPER Q" La Discoteca Del Aire and I remember that
we always used to go live from Club "Casanova" and Ciro always played the best Music and his Mixes were always perfect. He also had this gift
to be able to know exactly what the crowd wanted to hear.

I'm proud to be the number # 1 Dj Ciro Llerena's daughter :]
I love you dad!
Ciro is now at Apple Martini's on Saturday nights at the Grove. Granted it's not flow but if your going to hear good music from an awesome Dj, Apple's is the place to be :]
I'm looking for the man that might be my father... He was working at Honey for the Bears in the 80's and they called him Coca or Cocoa. If anyone has his real name or any helpful info, please email me.

THANK YOU SO MUCH

ciro i want to purchase some of your house mixes. email me were to get it.
From the time I arrived in Miami (a DJ transplant from New York City), Ciro always treated me with respect and made me feel important. And, in a whole new world of DJs, Clubs, Producers and Labels, being an outsider from NYC had me nervous. But, in little to no time at all, I felt like I was part of the pack.
And when the Miami Sound (ISH and Ciro's baby!) took-off worldwide, he remained as cool and down-to-earth as ever. At his peak of notariety, he brought me into my first studio session. I studied Ciro and Frank Cesarano at work. And Ciro gave me my first commercial release, label-credit, on Prototype's 1987, Double-Down Records' recording of "I Feel Love".

Mix Consulting by Steve Freeman (I happily overlooked the misspelling....LOL)
In 1987, sharing label space with Ciro Llerena was a pretty impressive place to be! Especially because, at that point, I'd only had 1 Disco Queen acetate, 2 Hot Tracks and 2 DiscoNets under my belt.
He, also, encouraged me to put my trademark Donna Summer medley, (that I'd been mixing, live, for years), to tape. (And immediately clocked, exactly where my intro beats were inspired from! LOL!)
Far too belated thanks to you, Ciro... For being a force in my decision to take my music career beyond the DJ booth.
