COMMENTS ON Gene McFadden
Gene McFadden and his partner John Whitehead wrote some of most thoughtful, soulful, and inspiring music from the past thirty years. I'd listen to it and wonder what gave those two songwriters such depth and what else they felt about the world. It would have been so easy to write about fluff and sex and stupid s***. But, McFadden and Whitehead decided to reach a little higher, setting a standard that very few song writers have reached since.
I hope it aint stopping you now !! One of the first songs to rember the good old days.
A brilliant man! RIP and God Bless.
"Ain't No Stoppin Us Now" is without question one of the most upbeat songs I've ever known. May God bless both Gene McFadden and John Whitehead. I hope they're beltin' it out there in Heaven!
What was the PHILLY sound? It was GENE McFADDEN and JOHN WHITEHEAD, it was HUFF and GAMBLE, it was TEDDY, it was LOU RAWLS it was SOUL. They all had it, we, as a society, miss it dearly. We lack that soul today, could it be because they are not here anymore? Their music remains!!! The fact that GENE McFADDEN is gone is no excuse for our lack of soul today. Lets put on AIN'T NO STOPPING US NOW, dance and pray for Gene's soul to come to us!! GOD BLESS!
