Jennifer Holliday

Jennifer Holliday Jennifer Holliday who hails from Houston, Texas has been said to be on of the most underrated female vocalists in the last twenty years. Not only is Holliday a class Soul singer who has crossed over to the pop arena, but she is also an accomplished actress having appeared and sung in Broadway musicals such as "Dreamgirls" and "Your Arm's Too Short To Box With God."

Her first major solo album is "Feel My Soul" from 1983, which was produced by Earth, Wind and Fire's Maurice White. Jennifer Holliday is best remembered for her hit song for Dreamgirls called "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" on Geffen Records.

Remember it's Jennifer Holliday, not Jennifer Holiday with one "L."

I, too, remember back in 1983 when Jennifer was a guest on Loretta Lynn: Big Apple Country, TV special. They did a gospel medley and totally blew me away! Jennifer clearly is a power-house and an incredible talent.

AND I'M TELLING YOU that Jennifer Holiday was a SUPER STAR. He vocal range had no limits.DREAMGIRLS the musical would have never opened without her.So there would have been no DREAMGIRLS the movie if it wasn't for her!!!Can you imagine that!! It is true, so I thank Jennifer for that too! Why she didn't become a DIVA in our world is a question that needs to be answered. i certainly can't provide a reason. It would be cool if she came out today, and showed the world what it has missed.

I love Jennifer Holiday. No one can sing "her song--And I am Telling you" and do it justice. There is no way. I also remember when Jennifer was a guest on a Loretta Lynn special & she sang a Willie Nelson song--Maybe I never told you--it was so beautiful the way she sang it--She can sing anything & make it sound better!!!! God blessed her with a beautiful voice of song. AMEN

    I agree with you, Bernie!

The voice of this, B'Way Diva should've placed her among the best singers!

Hopefully, labels will take notice because "Think It Over" - Jellybean Records didn't do justice for her.
