Robbie Tronco Robbie Tronco
DJ, Producer, and Music Lover

Times change, tastes change, and music changes. What never changes is Robbie Troncoís passion for music and his ability to make people love it too!

Robbie found much to inspire his development: the melodies of the Philly Sound; clubs like Philadelphiaís Second Story & Catacombs and Paradise Garage in New York City; and the DJs that didnít just play music, but rather, created an atmosphere ñ David Todd, Donald Stone, Frankie Goodman, Larry Levan, and Walter Gibbons. Not a bad foundationÖ one that has made Robbie Tronco, a ìnameî that has, and is inspiring a new generation of DJs and fans.

Troncoís roots were planted in the '70s, at age fourteen, in a teen dance club in South Philadelphia. He was hooked and ìhookedî his audiences from then on. With an eclectic style, Robbie uses flawless technique, an incredible diversity of music, and most importantly his passion for the music to ìleadî crowds worldwide.

Robbie is humble and his sense of humor isÖ legendary! He always ensures that his music, whether heís spinning or producing, brings excitement, joy, and laughter to his audience.

With a resume that includes more than fifteen club residencies and guest appearances throughout the US as well as in Canada and Tokyo, Robbie Tronco has proven that he can be successful in any venue. His mix shows, on stations like WIOQ in Philadelphia, have further exhibited that his skills and music selection win audience ratings.

When Robbie is in his studio, it is clear that his creativity, skill, and energy are transferred to his productions. His í97 house classic, Fright Train, sold 250,000 copies worldwide. Other TroncoTrax such as, Walk4Me, Drops, Oompa Song, INRI, Work This P*ssy, Reina, Maryís Opera, Runway as a House, CUNT, A Night at the Opra, Crash, 100% Ovahness, along with numerous remix projects, are a testament to Troncoís ability to transfer his passion for the vibe to commercial success.

Robbieís energy and enthusiasm for music are still growing! Through continued club residencies and collaborations, including the upcoming TroncoDELphia label, the legions of Robbie Tronco fans will continue to follow him into the new millennium.

I been following you all thru your career buddy. You were the king of scratch. Remember the record "duke of burlington" "twice as nice" 'you got me running by lenny willaims i think. and all the other classics.

    All,

Robbie Tronco and I have been doing an afterhours party at the Mansion... in honor of SOUL but obviously inspired by our days at The Story and Catacombs in the '70s-8)s!! There are actually some people that have been coming that used to go to both clubs... even remember Frankie Who, Frankie Sestito, Billy Kennedy, and my brother Jimmy!!

    Here are the details:

From the City of Brotherly Soul…
    troncoDELphia

    S O U L S U N D A Y S
Soulful music inspired by: The Second Story, Catacombs, Paradise Garage, and The Warehouse

    DEL (Philly & Chicago)

    The Mansion
(corner of 19th & Sansom Sts.)
    11PM till 3:15AM
Admission $5 (free with flyer before Midnight)
    Hosts: Winston & Marsha

YOU CAN’T FAKE THE FEELING WITHOUT FEELING!!!

Try to make it out, it's a small room in an old brownstone (you'll recognize it when you see the building). It would be great to get a crowd from the Story and Catacombs... maybe we could start an earlier Sunday party (to allow for all of us who need to rise up early on Monday mornings!.)

    All the best,

    Del (Robert Del Femine)

A true innovator and always ready with a warm welcome and a smile. See ya in Old City.

I happened to be visiting Philadelphia sometime in the early 90's and went to a club called Egypt and heard Robbie Play. His mixing ability and choice of music is incredible. A DJ myself, I believe Tronco has influenced me a lot with his dexterity on the decks. Big Ups !

Robbie is to this day one of my favorite dj's and people in the music industry. He is a brilliant star and has taken club jocks to the next level and has maintain that level to this day & athough he isan international star, we know he is pure Philly.......

I remember Robbie coming up and early on he was just simply amazing. Frankie Goodman and myself would stop by Rainbows and Gman would always say..."How'd he do that" as he and Robbie were great friends, and he was doing things no one ever heard before and makin it look easy.
DelFemine has it right in his post and there is not much more to add other than I can't wait to hear his new work. I know I'm a fan.....

    luv Frankiewho
