My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. I just saw Evelyn Champaign King over the weekend who told us this tragic news at her performance. He was a hero and a legend in the disco, dance, and R&B world.

Luther, God has called you home to glory to grant you the ultimate wish... to dance with your father again. Dance on! Thanks for the beautiful and meaningful music that you have shared with your fans over the last 20 years. You will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace!

I'll miss him, I'm so grateful for the musical legacy he left behind, but my heart already misses the music he would have had yet to share with the world, now one will ever replace him, no one ever could, I always say this about what I consider great talent and that is, that in 100 years. or so maybe sooner, I hope in my time, that Luthers' music will be considered the new classical music, there will be whole symphonies and concertos made from his body of work, ballets will be choreographed from his work.
In 100 years if heaven is like the movies, maybe we'll all look down and see lovers still falling in love to Luthers' heartfelt lyrics, and hopefully his music will be so preserved, so that for generations to come our childrens, childrens, children...LOL, will maybe even get to hear that amazing, "So Amazing" voice and experience the magic that will "Always And Forever" be Luther Vandross.

Luther Vandross is one of the golden ones!

He used to do studio sessions with my father, the late Al Browne and both are missed!

How could anyone who has followed his stellar career, listen to, lived by, and made love to his music, and seen him in concert, ever come to terms with his loss? Luther was not only a great singer, but he was funny, classy and so very human. Never will another light, shine so brightly.

Still missing you, Luther.

His best disco songs with him singing lead vocals are 1979 Bionic Boogie album Tiger Tiger, 1979 New York City Band, 1979 Mascara album which is super rare because it was released in England and parts of Europe, 1979 Soiree, 1979 Charme', and 1980 Zager album.

What else can one say about LUTHER? I will tell you that his vocals with BIONIC BOOGIE made that a huge hit. His vocals with the group CHANGE made them a huge hit. Then on his own, again the Big Man's vocals made HIM a hit!! He crossed all the lines. He was DISCO, he was pop, he was contemporary, he was soul, he was funk, he was R & B. His live shows left everyone speechless. But it was his bad habits that ultimately killed him. And for once that habit wasn't drugs!LUTHER always had bad eating habits, eating a ton of food well after his shows were over, then going to sleep. It led to diabetes. It led to his death. He is missed, may GOD BLESS you LUTHER!!
