Patrick Hernandez
Artist best known for "Born To Be Alive."
European singer Patrick Hernandez scored a huge hit in 1979 with "Born To Be Alive." The single first came to the US as a French import and soon a bidding war erupted among a few American labels with Columbia / CBS winning out.

Hi There!!!!!!
I'm a dics-jockey at a "Jammin' Oldies"
station in Fresno, California.... Just played
"Born To Be Alive" by PH ....
Is he Belgium or French????
Greg Elli(AKA "Mega" Michaels)
I spent a few months up the street at Market #195 doing middays and handling production at Oldies 97.5 KABX back in 2000. I used to listen to you on MEGA down in Fresno. BTW-It's a damn good station! I still work very part-time at a hurban in Salinas, KEXA-Exa 97.9. Today I am a coach operator for Monterey-Salinas Transit (much more secure!) Anyway, to answer your question, Patrick Hernandez is French-I have the old 12" single buried away somewhere in storage.
Take Care!
Born To Be Alive!
Thank God for Disco Music!
