Mar 03, 08 | 11:20 amRon "Have Mercy" Kersey was simply the best of his generation. He was known for writing, arranging and performing some of the best DISCO music ever created. I would see Ron every time I booked The Trammps for my Dance Hall Days in Hudson County New Jersey in the early and mid-seventies. He played an average of two nights a week with me in 1976 to 1978. Once on a Saturday in Jersey, then in the City at the COPA or somewhere else. Ron was sharp each and every time, always on top. He was personally responsible for the FIRST DISCO song ZING WENT THE STRINGS OF MY HEART. It is the song that started it all. Simply for that we thank you. But we also thank you for all the other fantastic music you were involved with. We thank you for being a great man, and a true professional. God Bless!
