Freddie Perren, who was best known for producing Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" and countless other songs for Tavares, Jackson 5... passed away from complications from a stroke that he had been battling for years. He died at the age of 61

Freddie made a deal that he would produce Gloria Gaynor Substitiute if he was able to produce and write the B side a song titled I Will Survive smart guy
I was so sorry to hear that Freddie was gone. I don't remember him from the music business but from a very special event on October 22, 1985. He and Chris will always have a very special place in my heart.

Freddie Perren has contributed so many great songs, from the days of the Jackson 5, to the Tavares, Gloria Gaynor, Peaches and Herb. His place in history is secure.
