Miami Disco and Radio DJ (Feb, 9, 1957 - Present)
Joe Lenders began his career in the early 1970's as a radio DJ working a number of Miami area radio stations. At night, Joe worked as a night club DJ. Frequently booked at Big Daddy's lounges, Joe worked at over a dozen Miami night clubs.
In 1978 Joe was hired as the first DJ at the Omni International Hotel's new nightclub, Scaramouche. There he became a legend in the Miami dance scene. Sometimes referred to as "The Needle" by other DJ's, Joe received the nickname from Bo Crane beacuse as Bo said "the first thing to touch a new record is the needle".
Joe also is credited with numerous remixes and was one of the areas first Disco Consultants helping design numerous clubs such as Club Manhattan and Club Menage.
Joe left the music industry in 1983 to become a filmmaker. He continues to produce independent feature films and other productions from his studios on the West coats of Florida.
