YOUR COMMENTS ON Johnny Bristol

Hey Bernie,

Johnny was great! I love "Hang On In There Baby". There is a version in the 54 DVD, that is not on the soundtrack, but it is a duet with Alton, McClain & Destiny. Do you know if they ever released it? As I understand the AM&D's producer mixed the 2 as a duet, but I have never seen it. I would love to get a copy.

Thanks,

Blaine

Steve,

It is a great song! It is one of my favorites from the disco era. I have the 45 and LP with the song.

It came out in 1974 although I believe the duet with Alton, McClain & Destiny came out a little later. The duet is the one I am searching for now. It is in movie 54, but not on the soundtrack of the movie. I wish I had not sold my record collection, because now I am trying to find the old great ones and it is hard..

Oh, and Blaine. The cd doesn't mention that it is the duet version. I will check out my cd and let you know which volume.

Anthony,

That would be great! I just check Rebound Records, but I did not see any version of the song.

Thanks,

Blaine

Blaine,

This song is on Rebound Records - "Disco Nights - Volum #2. The Best of Disco Funk." It is the last song on the CD.

I did not know that Johnny Bristol died. He was just on a oldies show a couple of years ago and he looked really good.

I just go into my little world when I hear "Do it to your mind". Thank God I still have his album

The name of the album is Bristol Creame. He is pouring cream on a woman who is sitting in a bath tub.

HANG ON IN THERE BABY was a staple nightly in my early years. The 45 single had two versions on it. It always packed the floor. A classic, thanks.
