YOUR COMMENTS ON Tony Thompson
Thompson was also the drummer for Power Station, and played drums for Led Zeppelin during Live Aid.
I meet tony through Nile Rodgers.
One of the best drummers ever and definitly the backbone of so much great dance music.

Chic was my group. When they told us to''freak out'', I did. I think I freaked out more listening to Tony Thompson playing those drums. Chic was a disco group that didn't sound to me like a disco group and Tony was a big reason for that, He didn't ride the hi-hat like a lot of the disco-era drummers did; he just played the hell out of the drums. The opening of Diana Ross' ''I'm Coming Out'' still kills me to this day because of Tony's attack on the drums. Also, David Bowie's ''Let's Dance''. He was the man...
Very few people know this,
but for a number of years Tony was THE ONLY drummer in the world.
