Mike Wilkinson

I am so sad to hear that Mike is not here anymore. I was his first girlfriend ever! We went to High School together and he used to have this old car and when we went parking it was always in front of this nunnery (his sense of humor) He would always say "don't worry Miss Cohen I have extra panty hose in the trunk of the car if you rip them getting out of the car.
Mike starred in the King and I in HS and had a great voice. He would sit down at my piano and whenever my parents walked in ,he would make up a song about them...boy they hated him!! He also had his pilots license before his drivers license. The last time I saw him was 77 or so and he took me to a fancy restuarant for dinner in NYC and he made up a name for the reservations because of course we did not have one. I used to visit him at Brown when he had the band Sammy and the Street meeters..wish I still had that record he made. I really loved him very much. I am very happy to hear that he made other people happy too. What a tremendous talent.
Oh, when he was at Brown and I was still in high school,he used to make me send him packs of cigarettes every week!

Listen guys, with all the deejays that log onto this site, we all should know MIKE, he started DISCONET! Is there any one out there who NEVER used a DISCONET record? If someone says they never used one, they are liars. It was a great idea, that would dominate today. Again, someone ahead of their time. GOD BLESS!
