Jan 23, 04 | 1:10 amJoe Tex was perhaps the most underrated Singer of the past 40 years.. He wrote over 300 songs including the smash hit "Fever" He had an excellent stage show. What I loved about him He never performed
songs the same.

Joe Tex. I had heard of him before, but I thought he was a gospel or country singer. Then in 1977 or so, AIN'T GONNA BUMP WITH NO BIG FAT WOMAN came out. I remember the reaction to this song, dancers forgetting what they were doing, and everyone started to do the BUMP. But it wasn't a simple BUMP, no they would wind up their hips, and literally throw a HIP check, trying to wipe out out everyone. People would go flying. True it didn't happen like that all the time, but that is what I do remember about JOE TEX. Thank you for a great song, that kept me laughing all the time. GOD BLESS.
