YOUR COMMENTS ON Johnnie Taylor

Well, what can I say about Johnnie Taylor...except he helped me through my difficult teenage years in the late 70's, I always listened to his song "I am somebody" and today, I made it to become "'Somebody" thanks to J.T.'s reminder. As an adult he helped me 'Get my groove back" that CD was just what I needed, if he was still alive I would travel the world over to find him and thank him personally. I am still sad because he is no longer around to make more music, but I am in the process of collecting all of his music and videos for my personal collection, no matter how much it may cost, therefore, I'll never have another sad day in my life because I will have J.T'S reminders to keep me smiling.

My mother loved this man to death. I grew up listening to her play his music. He will be greatly missed. RIP

"Move it in move it out" DISCO LADY is a CLASSIC! I am positive that that wasn't JOHNNIE TAYLOR'S only HIT, but it is the the one I played and remember most. As we all know, some songs worked better with different crowds than others. What put people on the dance floor one night, won't the next. The crowds tend to be different, and so they react differently to what you play. DISCO LADY was an answer to that problem. No matter what type of crowd you had on any particular night, DISCO LADY put them on the dance floor! Does that alone tell you how strong of a song this was? Maybe, but when I tell you that everyone was singing along, NOW you know that it was HUGE!! Thank you JOHNNY, we love you and miss you! GOD BLESS!!!
