COMMENTS ON Curtis Mayfield
I miss the music of Curtis Mayfield, but his
music will live on.CM was a visionary,one
of the very best. With compositions like,
"This Is My Country,People Get Ready,The
Makings of You and "If there's A Hell Below
(We all gonna Go)not to forget "Move On
Up"...an anthem for all people.I am truly
surprised that there are no comments about such a true American artist, but sadly
as we all know that most people easily
forget.I will always remember this Giant
Artist of Creative Music.Mr.Curtis Mayfield.
I certainly remember Curtis Mayfield and carry a special place in my heart for his music creations. As a child of the 60's, his songs "People Get Ready" and "Move On Up" drove the passions of those who wanted to overcome.
Bess his memory...
Move On Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's sad to say that I was @ Wingate Field in Brooklyn, NY when the accident happened which eventually caused his death, years later.
A Legend with Soul Music!
R.I.P.
RIP to the Poet, the Master, the Disicple, the Black Bach, The Musical Phenomenon of our World, you know what I'm talkin' about Mr. Curtis Mayfield. A Mount Rushmore Legend in the Fine of R&B Music.
GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!!! (1942-1999)
The Grooves On Super Fly Are Infinite. Want Top Experience The 70's..Listen To The Super Fly Project......Like Butter!
I am not sure, but maybe it was CURTIS MAYFIELD that gave us the first records that were termed DISCO!!! I've been searching, a long tome, researching a long time. While there may be earlier songs that could be defined as DISCO today, when they were released they were called R&B or soul, or pop. FREDDIE'S DEAD and SUPERFLY were DISCO from their first release. Curtis was responsible for a lot of great things, a lot of great songs and recordings, but if I am right, this is his greatest achievement, starting DISCO!!! Tell me that I am wrong!! After SUPERFLY there was DISCO!! Before SUPERFLY there wasn't DISCO!!! It is that simple, isn't it????
